Bliss.

It's Christmas break.. finally. I was starting to feel like it would never get here.

It's also Danny and I's first Christmas.. which means first Christmas tree, first time to be in charge of bringing some sort of food to the family get togethers, and first time to be responsible for buying our own gifts for people.. so far so good :)
I have so many plans and projects for myself over break its not even funny. Some of which might include:
-learning to sew on my new sewing machine (that Danny is hopefully getting me :)
-cleaning the apartment from top to bottom
-rearranging our room so that I have some space for a craft corner
-rereading HP7

Another very important project I have for myself is getting my sleep schedule back in shape.. Mine is seriously WHACKED UP from finals and staying up all night to finish late projects, then napping all day. My body thinks its time to go to sleep at 7 in the morning, and then wake up at 4 in the afternoon. I need some daylight, people! I miss the sun.

Plastic fashion show.

This is why I love being an art major.

For my final in one of my classes, we had to make a high fashion, couture outfit.. totally made out of plastic bags. First I tried sewing them together.. that took WAY too long. Then I thought about staples.. which ripped them. So I decided on hot glue, which sort of melted the bags but the fact that I was using a thick black trash bag as the base kept it from melting all the way through.

My wonderful friend Elise walked it down the runway for me.. I was freaking out because the skirt took me ALL night, so I knew I would basically have to sew her into the top (which was literally just a piece of trash bag)
When I got there I was pulling out my needle and thread when a girl next to me said "You know you could use tape"
Seerriously, why didn't I think of that the night before?

My next experiment.. weaving a belt out of colorful plastic bags. Yeah?
